Sticky Rice Vegan
Preparation: 30 minutes (plus overnight soaling)
Serves 4-6
- 2 c sticky rice
- 6-10 c water
- Soak rice overnight.
- Bowl a pan of water in a saucepan that can be fitted with a steamer.
- Line a bamboo steamer with a tea towel, and put soaked rice on top.
- Steam rice for about 30 minutes, or until grains are no longer hard and the rice is springy.
For mango and sticky rice desert:
- 1 c. coconut cream
- 1/2 c. palm sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Combine in a saucepan over low heat. Do not allow coconut cream to boil!
- Pour over sticky rice (mix if desired).
- Serve with fresh mango (or other fruit).
- Garnish with sesame seeds (optional)
