Basmati Rice Vegan
Preparation: 45 miinutes
Serves 6-8
- 1 cup Basmati rice (brown or white)
- 1 tsp oil
- 1 1/2 c water
- salt to taste
- In a bowl, gently rinse rice several times
- In a small pot, on high heat, boil the water.
- Add the oil.
- Add salt or cinnamon, cumin seeds, cloves or cardamom pods if desired.
- Add the washed rice to the boiling water.
- When most of the water has evaporated, cover the rice and reduce the heat to simmer for several minutes.
- Turn stove off, leaving the rice to finish cooking in its steam.
